CENTRE
Cwmtawe Youth Band. Senior Band have a night off tonight but I would like volunteers to help me sort music out & clear the storage area, 6pm please. Beginners, Juniors & Training Band as normal 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Also need a band for the Ospreys Semi Final game 11th May & a 16 piece ensemble for the 12th may lunchtime to play for an hour at Pontardawe Spring Festival. Locals would be best. The next payment of £20 for the Cardiff Residential Course are now due. Could you ensure that cheques are made payable to 'FRIENDS OF WEST GLAMORGAN YOUTH MUSIC' and forward them to the County Music Office, Gellionnen School Site, Gellionnen Road, Clydach, SA6 5HE. Well done to the Training Band for winning a Gold Award at the Greater Gwent Contest in the 3rd Section. Also congratulations to the Senior Band for a 3rd place in the 2nd Section at the same contest plus achieving a Gold Award in the Youth Section at the Gloucester contest. Two great days out! As mentioned in last weeks letter most information will now only be available on the website forum. All members are advised to register or re-register as the case may be. You then need to text or e-mail me the username you have chosen and identify who you are and I will then register you. This is a vital safety measure. N.B. This is for band members only. EISTEDDFOD
Congratulations on a fantastic result of 2nd place in 4th Section at the National Eisteddfod in Blaenau Gwent. As the contest is run under British and not Welsh gradings and you were competing against bands who would normally compete in 2nd & 3rd Section it is a remarkable achievement. Well Done Everyone!
